ATA seeks security award nominations

The Security Council of the American Trucking Associations (ATA) has announced that nominations for the Security Council's 2008 Excellence in Security Award

The Security Council of the American Trucking Associations (ATA) has announced that nominations for the Security Council's 2008 Excellence in Security Award and 2008 Security Professional of the Year Award are now being accepted until April 1, according to ATA information.

The 2008 Excellence in Security Award is the only nationally-recognized trucking security award that honors the company that sets the standard for excellence in the field of trucking security.

Applicant's security programs will be evaluated based on the scope and effectiveness of their security policies, procedures, training and records.

The 2008 Security Professional of the Year Award is presented to a security professional that demonstrated exemplary leadership and significantly contributed to the professional's company's security posture. Candidates are nominated by their company.

Both awards will be presented at the Security Council's 2008 Trucking Security and Law Enforcement Conference and Exhibition April 29-May 1, 2008, in Long Beach CA.

Award recipients are also recognized at the 2008 ATA Management Conference and Exhibition October 4-7 in New Orleans LA, and through a press release.
