TMC accepting diesel technician scholarship applications

The Technology & Maintenance Council of American Trucking Associations is accepting applications for its 2013 scholarship programs available for diesel

The Technology & Maintenance Council of American Trucking Associations is accepting applications for its 2013 scholarship programs available for diesel technician studies at WyoTech, the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH), and Lincoln Technical Institute/Lincoln College of Technology/Nashville Auto Diesel College.

These scholarships are administered by TMC's Professional Technician Development Committee and are part of the council's effort to promote and enhance professionalism of commercial vehicle technicians. Scholarship applications must have a sponsor who is a current dues-paying member of TMC or is employed/contracted by a company with at least one current dues-paying TMC member.

WyoTech is offering two scholarships, each awarded for 1,500 clock hours (nine months) attendance at one of two WyoTech schools, either Laramie WY or Blairsville PA. Students may select from one of two start dates: June 27 or Sept 26, 2013.

The UNOH scholarship is for an amount not to exceed $25,000 and/or 180 credit hours in the College of Technologies for Automotive/Diesel Technology and/or the College of Business for Specialized Studies in Automotive.

Lincoln Technical Institute/Lincoln College of Technology/Nashville Auto Diesel College is offering four half scholarships. Each half-scholarship is awarded for a 1,200- to 1,560-hour program, depending on location, and attendance at one of six Lincoln Technical Institute/Lincoln College of Technology/Nashville Auto Diesel College locations in Denver CO, Indianapolis IN, Nashville TN, Grand Prairie TX, East Windsor CT, and South Plainfield NJ. Students may select from one of five class start dates in June, July, August, September, and October 2013.

Applicants must include a letter of recommendation from their sponsor, must be graduating from an accredited high school or vocational school, and have a transcript sent showing the most recent three years of academic performance.
