Kalayo Bamigboye, a frac technician with Pilot Thomas Logistics in Odessa TX, recently completed the 11 millionth PRO-TREAD lesson from Instructional Technologies Inc (ITI), a provider of training solutions for the transportation industry.

To celebrate the milestone event, ITI COO Nathan Stahlman presented Bamigboye with several prizes.

“Our 11 millionth lesson was taken just 7.7 months after the 10 millionth lesson,” Stahlman said. “That means more than 130,000 of our PRO-TREAD lessons are being taken every month. On average that’s more than 4,300 lessons per day and one new lesson is being started every 20 seconds.”

ITI, which celebrates every millionth lesson taken, took 9.7 months to get from nine to 10 million lessons. The company provided its one millionth lesson in 2007 and has steadily shortened the intervals between million-mile marks since then.

The 11 millionth ITI lesson taken by Bamigboye was on hazmat communication rules, along with a few other custom and hosted courses the same day. Bamigboye, who currently teams with another driver and travels to oil fields to fuel machinery and vehicles, is working toward earning his CDL.

Pilot Thomas Logistics, headquartered in Fort Worth TX, is a provider of fuel, lubricants and chemicals to the energy, marine, mining and industrial markets. From a network of fuel and lubricant terminals and warehouses in 23 states, the company delivers products with 1,500 specialized trucks and trailers.

Using ITI’s PRO-TREAD online driver training system and Sentix fully automated web-based Learning Management System (LMS), Pilot Thomas Logistics provides a variety of training solutions and tracks and manages the progress of its safety training programs for more than 1,700 employees in 23 states.

“Beyond high-quality training content, the value we get from ITI is that its approach to training has become a cultural focal point that helps keep everyone engaged in improving safety,” said Bill Woolsey, vice president for environmental health and safety at Pilot Thomas Logistics. “ITI, as a key part of our safety programs, has helped us reduce incidents and make tremendous progress in safety improvement.”
