Dupré expands temperature-controlled solutions

Acquisition of Interstate Transport, part of Dupré’s diversification plans, extends carrier’s food and beverage logistics services into Florida market

Dupré Logistics recently acquired Interstate Transport, a provider of temperature-controlled food and beverage logistics based in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Dupré Logistics, based in Louisiana, is a privately held transportation company that provides logistics solutions through three distinct business divisions: Onsite and Private Fleet Services, Strategic Capacity Brokerage Services, and Energy Distribution Services. With extensive coverage on the Gulf Coast and across North America, Dupré has been nationally recognized for its commitment to safety and unique business model, combining company-owned assets and an extensively vetted carrier network, the company said.

“It’s always been Dupré’s vision to be a diversified transportation and logistics company,” Mike Weindel, Dupré president, said in a news release. “We continue to pursue opportunities that will help us broaden our service portfolio and increase our company footprint across the United States. The combination of Interstate’s expertise, healthy footprint in the food and beverage logistics space, and the strong cultural overlap between our two companies made this a winning combination.”

Interstate Transport, which has been in business for more than 20 years, offers temperature-controlled, time-sensitive, dry, and flatbed brokerage services to companies across industries, including foodservice, horticulture, big box retailers, and emergency management. The addition of Interstate Transport will increase Dupré’s density and service offering in Florida and expand its East Coast operations and carrier network.

The Interstate Transport name will be retained, Dupré said. However, the company will be known as a “Dupré Logistics Company.” Gloria Hudson, Interstate Transport’s president and CEO, and Zach Aufmann, vice president, will continue to serve in senior leadership roles.

“We are excited about this next phase in Interstate Transport’s history,” Hudson said. “The transition for our customers will be seamless and ‘business as usual.’ This transaction will allow us to continue to drive value and opportunities for our customers and employees.

“We look forward to what the future brings.”
