North American Salt Co (NASC), a subsidiary of Compass Minerals Inter-national Inc, has successfully launched and expanded production use of the Transportation Management System (TMS) from Shippers Commonwealth as of first-quarter 2004. It also has completed deployment of the system throughout its United States operations, with deployment to Canada in the works.
The new TMS is now in full production use for inaugurating optimal shipment planning and automated execution of outbound shipments for NASC, operating from corporate headquarters in Overland Park KS. It has been successfully launched for automated shipment management for NASC's operations in Hersey MI, Lyons KS, Kenosha WI, and Ogden UT, and has been expanded to seven regional load centers throughout North America. More than 40 ship sites are under management throughout the NASC North American network.
The transportation system for NASC from Shippers Commonwealth is integrated into NASC enterprise systems, and has been implemented to provide real-time collaboration with carriers and online web visibility for NASC customer service.
