Angola IN-based TydenBrammall's test laboratory received the official certificate of accreditation for technical competence in mechanical testing from the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) recently. The accreditation made TydenBrammall's lab, located within the manufacturing plant in Angola, the only facility in the world certified to ISO 17025 requirements to perform ASTM 1157 seal tests. These tests are the benchmark performance tests for the ISO/PAS 17712:2005 mechanical seal standard.

Specifically, the accreditation allows TydenBrammall's lab to perform tests on seals under ASTM 1157 “Standard Practice for Classifying the Relative Performance of the Physical Properties of Security Seals.” TydenBrammall conducts tests at temperatures from 180° F to -10° F.

The TydenBrammall lab is certified to test any manufacturers' product upon request, including its own. The ISO recordkeeping procedures guarantee that there is no bias in testing and reporting. For cargo seal customers, this means that fraudulent claims for products can be eliminated through tests performed by the TydenBrammall lab.

TydenBrammall's facility is now operating as an A2LA-accredited lab available to perform testing on cargo seals designed to meet ISO/PAS 17712 performance standards.
