Southern Waste Services Inc d/b/a SWS Environmental First Response recently announced the opening of its 15th service center in Paducah KY.

The recent acquisition of CEECO Environmental Services LLC by SWS has provided a new level of emergency response and industrial services and overall capabilities in the Paducah area as well as surrounding states. These include Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Arkansas, and Missouri.

Situated in the southwestern tip of Kentucky along the Tennessee River, its proximity to the Mississippi, Ohio, and Clark rivers will enable swift maritime spill coverage for oil and other petroleum products. Located off Interstate 24, it is also ideal for land-based incidents. In terms of a four-hour land response window, SWS can respond within seven different states in that time frame.

Besides emergency response, SWS projects include remediation, sampling, railcar transfers, hazardous and non-hazardous waste handling, tank cleaning, bilge cleaning, air monitoring, and vacuum truck services.

This new service center is equipped with roll-off trucks, roll-off boxes, vacuum trucks, marine vessels, containment boom, response trailers, sorbent products, response vehicles, and other emergency response equipment.

As a certified OSRO under United States Coast Guard regulations, SWS will qualify for the maximum most probable discharge coverage under the facility and vessel classification levels for COTP Zone Paducah. SWS is also certified in other COTP zones including Jacksonville, Miami, and Tampa FL; Mobile AL; and Savannah GA.

SWS can be phoned 24 hours a day, seven days a week at 800-852-8878.
