Ted Fick has been named president and chief executive officer of Polar Corporation. He joins Polar with more than 25 years of leadership experience in manufacturing, service, and distribution businesses. Fick served most recently as president and CEO of the CPI Card Group and before that as president of Thermo King, a leading supplier of transport refrigeration equipment. Ted also held positions at Goodyear, where he was vice-president of Commercial Tire Systems, and at Hino Diesel Trucks, a subsidiary of Toyota, where he was senior vice-president. He spent 17 years at PACCAR, where he held leadership positions in sales, marketing, plant management and general management. Fick has a master's of science degree in management from Stanford University, where he was a Sloan Fellow, a master's of business administration degree from the University of Puget Sound and a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Washington. Rob Denious, a managing director at Questor Management Company, LLC and a member of Polar's board of directors, said: “We are delighted that Ted Fick is joining Polar. He is a proven leader with an impressive track record leading businesses to outstanding results.”

Grote Industries announced the appointment of Dominic Grote as president and chief operating officer. He most recently served as the organization's vice-president of sales and marketing and has been with the firm since 1993. The company's previous president, Eric Morris, announced July 15, 2009, that he would be stepping down as president in preparation for a new position as Grote's director of accessory markets.

Thermo King Corporation has named Dwayne Cowan APU (auxiliary power unit) product manager. He will report to Doug Lenz, director, product management. With extensive experience in the transport business, Cowan was most recently a Thermo King district sales manager.

Continental Tire North America Inc has named Mike Leigner the new regional sales manager for the southern region of the United States in the commercial vehicle tire division. Leigner was previously a district sales manager within the southern region. Scott Pall is a new district sales manager for the division's northern US region. He was previously a territory sales manager in the northern states. Adam Willis is a new district sales manager for the division's Midwest region. Willis was previously responsible for product industrialization of tire technology for truck tires at Continental's Mount Vernon IL facility.
