Philip Services Corp has appointed Thomas P ONeill Jr senior vice-president and chief financial officer. Most recently, he was CFO and chief operating officer for a start-up sports firm.

Beall Financial has added Tom Hofeldt as finance sales representative at Beall Trailers of Arizona. He has more than 20 years of banking and sales experience with Montana Banc Systems Inc and as a self-employed insurance salesman.

Mack Trucks Inc has promoted Michael P Reardon from executive director — marketing to regional vice president — western region. Based in Irvine CA, he is responsible for sales and service activities of 23 Mack distributors in 12 states.

Joseph R Berkel has been named North American commercial vehicle lubricants (CVL) manager for ExxonMobil Lubricants & Specialties Co. Berkel previously served as marketing manager for the Exxon, Mobil, and Esso brand passenger vehicle lubricants in North America.

Alastair “Al” Brent has become director of operations for Accuride Corp's London, Ontario, Canada plant, Joel Mayne will serve as the plant's heavy-vehicle operations manager, and Jerry Fisher will serve as light-vehicle operations manager. Accuride also appointed Karen Matsui environmental health and safety (EHS) manager. Brent most recently served as director of special projects. Fisher joined Accuride's London operations in 1999 as logistics manager, and Mayne most recently served as EHS manager. Matsui joined Accuride as an environmental engineer in 1995.

Hino Diesel Trucks (USA) has named Jim Layman as its national fleet sales manager. He has been in the trucking industry for 20 years and has experience with both fleet accounts (managing fleets of up to 11,000 vehicles) and OEM fleet sales.

Tripmaster Corp has appointed Reno V Ramsey director of engineering. Ramsey succeeds Hare Patnaik, who continues to serve as an adviser in research and development through his consulting company, HP MicroSystems. Ramsey previously spent 17 years as an engineering manager with ArvinMeritor and its predecessor company, Rockwell International.

Dr Klaus Bleyer has announced his retirement as chief executive officer of ZF Friedrichshafen AG, effective June 30, 2001. Bleyer, who leaves ZF after 12 years with the company, became the firm's CEO in 1990.
