BRENNER Tank Services LLC celebrated the establishment of a new 6,000-square-foot tank truck/trailer parts center in Gonzales, Louisiana, April 13.

The facility, one of five Brenner parts centers in the United States, contains an inventory totaling more than $350,000, said Bruce Yakley, Brenner Tank LLC president.

Opened October 1, 2005, the parts center has surpassed projections, said Bill Stone, president of Brenner Tank Services LLC. The location in Gonzales is ideal with at least 15 key customers located within five miles of the center.

Brenner's customer base was growing in the area, and one particular customer required more service, so the decision was made to open the Gonzales location.

“We want to serve our customers the very best way we can,” Stone said.

At first, Brenner managers thought the 2005 hurricanes that struck the Gulf Coast might effect the company's initial business. “The hurricanes that hit New Orleans and the Gulf Coast came just as we were getting set up,” Stone said. “We expected our business to suffer accordingly, but our customers recovered quickly.”

Availability

The center is a full-line parts distribution facility that is open 8 am until 5 pm Monday through Friday and available through the company's pager/cell phone network 24/7. It is located at 10079 Industriplex, off Louisiana State Highway 30. A large warehouse provides easy access to expedite service.

Personnel at the Gonzales facility include Billy Guillory, parts manager, Tom Green, outside sales, and Brad Gauthreaux, warehouse and delivery. Bryan Watson oversees Brenner's parts business as national parts manager.

In addition to walk-in customers, the center either delivers parts with a pickup truck, or ships them throughout Louisiana and the Gulf Coast areas of Alabama and Mississippi. Deliveries are made routinely once a week to Mobile, Alabama, and two times per week to New Orleans. Typically, shipments are handled by United Parcel Service and various LTL carriers.

Brenner supplies customers with a variety of parts for tank trailers including chemical, sanitary, dry bulk, petroleum, and liquid petroleum gas. In-house parts include fenders, light boxes, and upper couplers.

Computer program

A computer program linked into the company-wide system Brenner uses for all its facilities, handles accounting, estimating, and inventory programs.

In addition to Brenner equipment, the parts center handles products from a variety of suppliers, including Betts Industries, Girard Equipment Inc, Civacon, Knappco Corp, OPW Engineered Systems, Scully Signal Co, Seal Fast Inc, Sure Seal Inc, Solimar Pneumatics, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, Haldex/Anchorlok, Hendrickson USA LLC, Reyco Granning, Hutch, ArvinMeritor Inc, Gunite Corp, Webb Wheel Products Inc, Accuride Corp, Holland Group, Kysor-WestTran, Jost International Corp, PT Coupling Co Inc, Dixon Bayco Ltd, and Fisher Controls International LLC.

Besides the Brenner parts centers in Gonzales, Memphis, Tennessee, and Ashland, Kentucky, the company's tank repair facilities are located in Mauston, Wisconsin, and Houston, Texas. Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is home to the company's manufacturing facility and corporate headquarters.

Brenner builds a wide selection of stainless steel transport tanks to haul acids, chemicals, juice, milk, and water. Aluminum transport tanks also are manufactured for hauling asphalt, chemicals, crude oil, and petroleum products.
