IMHA forms legislative committee at annual meeting

THE INTERNATIONAL Milk Haulers Association (IMHA) has formed a legislative committee and plans to focus on federal excise taxes for equipment purchases in an effort to demonstrate the impact on milk haulers. Other issues to be addressed in the future include agricultural license fees and fuel taxes.

These decisions and others were on the agenda at the 2003 IMHA Convention May 19-20 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Serving on the legislative committee are Trudy Barefoot, Ryan LaLone, Robert Gilchrist, Mary Leibham, and Jim Miller.

The association also elected Steve Setterlund second vice-president; Rick Barefoot, secretary/treasurer; and John Culler and Steve Pelton, directors. Jim Koester assumed the role of president from retiring president Jim McClelland.

Next year's convention will be in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada. A date will be set later.
