Congress again extended the six-year highway spending bill, this time to July 27.

The decision was made July 21 on the deadline of the previous extension.

The original comprehensive authorization bill expired almost two years ago.

The White House has proposed $284 billion and has said the President will veto any bill that increases spending beyond that amount, but the Senate has added an additional $11-billion, upping the amount to $295 billion.
