Transport Canada (TC) is proposing changes to the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations that affect the type of Intermediate Bulk Container used to transport diesel and gasoline, according to information on the TC web site www.tc.gc.ca
.

The authorized specifications are covered under United Nations (UN)31A and UN31B, and Transport Canada (TC)57. Also on the specification list is Underwriter Laboratories of Canada (ULC) ORD 142.13 (only until 2010, and the tank must have been built before 2003). In addition, IBCs would have to have a visual inspection every five years at a Transport Canada-registered facility.
