Norfolk Southern Railway Co has enhanced terminal operations at its Buffalo NY thoroughbred bulk transfer (TBT) facility with the selection of Bulkmatic Transport Co to operate the facility. Bulkmatic offers services such as packaging, warehousing and purity controls.
The Buffalo TBT facility has 87 car spots with three tracks for food products and two tracks for chemicals and forest products. The facility features paving, security, full fencing, lighting, 24-hour access, full-time personnel, a steam boiler for product heating, truck scale, a two-bay truck wash, and a trailer dryer. All TBT facilities are open facilities and allow haulage by qualified motor carriers.
Norfolk Southern serves 23 TBT and Flexi-Flo facilities in 14 states. Other TBT terminals are in Atlanta, Augusta, and Dalton, GA; Chicago IL; Charlotte and Winston-Salem NC; Chattanooga TN; Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Columbus OH; Detroit and Willis MI; Miami and Jacksonville FL; Petersburg, VA; Spartanburg SC; Philadelphia and Pittsburgh PA; Baltimore MD; Croxton and Paterson NJ; and Mobile AL. The Buffalo TBT terminal is at 50 Bison Parkway and has access to Interstate 90.
